Victim Restitution Payments

The Clerk's Office is charged with the collection and distribution of restitution as payments become available.  Restitution payments are issued once a month, when at least $25 is available for disbursement to a victim.  Payments are disbursed pursuant to victim information listed in the criminal judgment.  Restitution checks are issued by the U.S. Treasury Department and the check stub will contain case information.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Financial Litigation Unit (FLU) is responsible for overseeing criminal debt matters which includes ensuring collection of funds from defendants and enforcing payment of debts.  To inquire on the status of a restitution payment or for detailed case information, please contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office at 608-264-5158.

To notify the court of a change of address, please complete the Address Change Form. The form may be submitted, along with the required supporting documentation, to the Finance Department at financial@wiwd.uscourts.gov.

Victim Name Change  
A payee name change must be approved by court order.  To request a victim payee name change, please complete the individual or business form.  The form may be submitted, along with the required supporting documentation, to the Finance Department.
