U.S. Probation/Pretrial Services Officer

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin is seeking a probation and pretrial services officer to work in Madison or Eau Claire. Probation and pretrial services officers supervise defendants in the community and aid judicial officers in making informed decisions on persons charged with, and convicted of, criminal offenses. The position is open until filled, with preference given to applications received by July 31, 2020.

IT Support Specialist

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin is seeking a full-time IT Support Specialist to provide automation and help desk support for judges and court staff in the District Court and the Office of Probation and Pretrial Services, including its divisional office in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This position operates in a team environment and provides technical support, including installing, configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware and software programs. A summary of duties and responsibilities includes:

  • Being the first point of contact for judges, court staff, and probation officers seeking technical assistance.
  • Providing remote support to teleworkers and staff in other office locations.
  • Providing technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and other hardware and software.
  • Handling moves, new setups and changes in computer equipment and peripherals such as printers, scanners and copiers.
  • Assisting court staff with difficulties in the use of word processing applications, email, browsers, Adobe Acrobat, and other software programs.
