NextGen is coming April 25, 2022!

On April 25, 2022, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin upgraded its electronic filing system to NextGen CM/ECF.  E-filers now login with their PACER credentials to file in this court and all other NextGen federal courts.  This feature is known as Central Sign-On.  If you had an ECF account with the Western District of Wisconsin prior to April 25, follow the steps below to continue filing here.

What You Need to Do Now:

STEP 1. Obtain your own PACER account

You must have your own PACER account to to access NextGen CM/ECF.  This account will remain with you even if you move to another organization.  Shared PACER accounts may not be used for NextGen CM/ECF.

If you already have your own PACER account, proceed to Step 2.

STEP 2. Upgrade your existing PACER account

If your PACER account was issued prior to August 11, 2014, it is a Legacy PACER Account that must be upgraded.  If your PACER username is only 6 characters long, it is a Legacy PACER Account that must be upgraded.

On or After April 25, 2022:

Link your PACER account to your CM/ECF account

You will not be able to e-file until your upgraded, individual PACER account is linked to your CM/ECF account.  You will need both your PACER credentials and your CM/ECF credentials for this one-time process.
