Event: Bankruptcy > Motions/Applications > Appear Pro Hac Vice

 

Any lawyer in good standing that is licensed to practice before the highest court of any state, or the District of Columbia, is eligible for admission to practie in the Western District of Wisconsin. 

Any attorney requesting permission to practice before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Western District of Wisconsin must be familiar with this Court's Local Rules, forms, and ECf User's Manual prior to filing documents. 

Judge(s) prefer attorneys contact District Court to become admitted to the district, they will condisder and act on Motions to Appear pro Hac Vice. Information on Admission

Filing Requirements:

Note: Before filing your motion with the Bankruptcy Court, register for electronic filing.

  • Motion to Appear Pro Hac Vice (for the purposes of only one case or matter)

  • Affidavit or copy of Certificate of Good Standing

Affidavit must state there are no pending disciplinary proceedings in any State or Federal Court.

  • Proposed Order

  • Clerk's office will schedule hearing/telephonic hearing

To File Motion Electronically:

  1. Log into CM/ECF.

  2. Select [Bankruptcy >  Motions/Applications].

  3. Enter the case number (e.g, xx-xxxxx).

  4. Select [Appear Pro Hac Vice] from the event list.

  5. Select the party filer. If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.

    Note:  The Attorney/Party Association screen may appear. If your party selection was correct, check the box to create an association.

  6. Browse to select the Motion (.pdf file).

    Note:  Supporting documents may be added as attachments to this document.

  7. Modify the text as appropriate.

  8. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).

    Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately e-mailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.

  9. Electronically file the Proposed Order. Instructions
