Event: Bankruptcy > Plan or Notices > Notice of completion of Plan Payments and Request for Discharge


After completion of plan payments debtor will file:

  1. Notice of Completion of Plan Payments and Request for Discharge. A 14-day notice to all creditors is required.

  2. Proof of Service

Note: In most chapter 11 individual cases, the Certificate of Financial Management is not required. The certificate IS required if the plan calls for a liquidation of all, or substantially all, assets of the debtor and the debtor is NOT engaging in business. If the certificate is not filed, docket Notification event "Missing Financial Certificate (auto form)." Once the form is filed, follow instructions below. 

To File Electronically:

  1. Log into CM/ECF.

  2. Select [Bankruptcy > Plan or Bankruptcy > Notices].

  3. Enter the case number (e.g, xx-xxxxx).

  4. Select [Notice of Completion of Plan Payments and Request for Discharge] from the event list.

  5. Select the party filer.

  6. Browse to select the Notice (.pdf file).

  7. Enter the last day to object (defaults to 14 days; modify if necessary).

  8. Is a Proof of Service included/attached to the document currently being filed? Answer [Yes] or [No].

  9. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).

    Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately e-mailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
