Effective January 22, 2008, a new case will be merely a phone call away. In order to file a new case, users may simply contact the clerk's office during normal business hours and have a case number assigned. Once the case number is assigned, users will be able to electronically file their case initiating documents. For further details, see the Administrative Procedures, Section III(B).
Beginning with CM/ECF, the court will also accept payment by credit card and Pay.gov. A credit card is all users will need to pay the filing fee through Pay.gov. Once the credit card information is entered, the filing fee will be automatically credited to the newly filed case. For further information, see the CM/ECF User Manual, page 52.
